Here is a question for you:
"If you could take a magic pill and choose a single ability for yourself from anything you can think of, what would it be?"
Out of all the possibilities, I'd pick the ability to change.
When I look at myself and the people around me, we all have our aspirations of who we want to be and what we want to achieve.
Often times we already know what we need to change but we usually don't. Or can't.
At least not in a way that would make the difference that we seek.
We have grown up with different parents, environments and in different times. What you experienced in your early life often defines your character, how you see the world, what makes you anxious, how you interact with other inhabitants of this little planet and how you do the work you do.
And regardless of the powers you currently have, your desires and things that you find important will change with time and you will want to change with them.
Thankfully, even though it is often hard, we do posses this ability and I believe it lives in the little things we do each day.
If I want to change something, all I need to do is to try and change it in the next little moment. And then the next. And the next.
And in every moment I succeed, I already am the person I seek to be.
But first, we need to start believing that who we are and how we live is not written in stone but rather in something more like wax. You just need to give yourself space to melt it down a bit first before you start working on it.
What ability would you choose?
